The other day I installed Windows 8 on an older PC. While Windows 8 installed fine, it did not find the video/graphic drivers which resulted in display that had black bars on the sides of the display. Basically, the video was unusable.
This PC used the Intel GM965 chipset which I downloaded from http://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx for Windows Vista.
Luckily, it worked without any issues. Yes, looks like the drivers for Windows Vista might just work on Windows 8. Just remember to run the program in Windows Vista compatibility mode and I also ran the program as an administrator.
